In that sense, I agree - it is silly.

But an individual statistic can be quite telling of a more marco-level analysis. To compare SAIT and Univeristy at all is quite difficult given the nature of their programs, but there are those areas of study that both institutions offer to teach. Therefore, if any comparison is to be made, then it must be in like-minded classes (or programs) that both SAIT and the Uni have to offer. In this case, mathematics appears to be more difficult in the University programs, because the aforementioned difficulty of homework that my co-worker presented to me is already assumed knowledge when entering junior-level courses at the Uni. Even she thought it was ridiculously easy, and she hadn't taken math since High School a couple years ago.

Mathematics is but one area of study, so it's not exactly a wise conclusion to make that SAIT is easier in all aspects. I just happen to think that the theoretical approach is much more difficult than practical studies. To each his own.
