These situations further show how disgustingly poor the government has done at educating its citizens on the oil industry that is so 'important'. A two day unit for high school students would do wonders. It really isn't that complex and 99% of every article written on it shows immediately how ignorant the media and most people are about it.

They interviewed some engineer about this well "who worked in the industry". Through the language he was using, you could tell he had no idea what he was talking about. (Iginla goaled an assist with his scoring rod). Looking at Apegga, he was a instrumentation guy in the oilsands, which means he knows nothing about wells.

The media is SOOOOO lazy, there are upstream petroleum guys on every corner of this city, ask them.

Ther are risks with these things, small, but I am sure the public will be worked up about the wrong ones due to the media.

The smallass size of this company would be a concern of mine, something goes south, the company could probably afford to kill the well for a day and a half before running out of money. Ya, ya Blowout insurance.

Also a company this size probably has 5 actual employees.

Also, demand the company gets cement to surface, no matter what, you abandon the well if you do not. I bet the company won't cheap out on cement and hole conditioning. ramble on

It's difficult to spin a story along a preconceived narrative when you interview informed sources. I read the same uninformed crap about the Oilsands all the time.
