A domestic broadcaster bought the rights to show a foreign broadcast - of course they are going to sell their own ads to recover their costs and to profit from it. I'd imagine that any other country would have their own domestic ads as well.
Plus, with the advertisers' primary goal being for these ads to go "viral", they're not exactly going to be hard to find, are they?
The Canadian advertisers could step it up a few notches, for sure, and Budweiser should be commended for actually putting a bit of effort into a Canadian ad. But I certainly don't expect CTV to ante up the cash for a broadcast and then take a pass on the advertising revenues.
