While I agree with the baseball side low risk, the PR storm around the signing of a guy convicted of PED has a lot more of a risk to it, even if he doesn't make it out of spring training.
The PR and media circus that he'll draw when he's back in the league near the end of May if he makes it, has potential to be a big distraction for a team, management team, and ownership, that is pretty squeaky clean reputation wise.
