What's in dispute is whether he was coerced into signing a confession he did not read or write- that is all. Yes, if true, it was wrong for the authorities to do this, but this boils down to lawyer tactics in hopes that evidence of impropriety among the Mexican officials will lighten the sentence (or better)...
The statements that everyone makes about lack of evidence are a little odd- do people really think the general public have been shown every peice of evidence in this case? I guess people forget there is security camera footage
