Taking the 1 per 400,000 in Mexico as mentioned above and assuming a week per tourist (rough average holiday estimate) that's 1 per 7,700 on a year basis.
Bolded only for comparison highlighting only - this is VERY rough and probably bad usage of stats.

I'm going to disagree with your stats....The 1.62 per 100,000 is based on a time period (a year) with a population. The 1 per 400,000 was based on the same time period (a year) with a population. I don't believe you should have tried to adjust for the amount of time stayed in Mexico, as you didn't adjust for the amount of time people were not in Canada.
