Academy voting member #4 is that you? What Serkis is doing is acting in its purest form, and even more impressive is he is not even playing a human character. Anyone can do that with varying degrees of success, but stepping outside of your species and doing it convincingly takes absolute dedication, and incredible talent. Can you see George Clooney doing this?






Now Clooney is a good actor in his own right, I enjoy his work but he could never, ever do what Serkis does, he simply does not have the skill or ability. Serkis deserves an Oscar hands down IMO, but I highly doubt he will ever be nominated.
