I just run the cord across the sidewalk. I wrap the cord a few times in knots around my fence on the side of the yard while running it out, so if some jackaloupe decides he wants my cords, it'll take him 20 min to untangle it.

I don't care about pedestrians. I'd rather my block heater stay plugged in.

If it's against any bylaw, I'd gladly figure out some better way, but that seems like a silly bylaw when it's -35 outside.
