Drumroll please

I've sat down and watched the news coverage of the Liberal Party Convention. Beyond seeing that they were crying about the same old thing about the Conservatives being big meanies and having a hidden agenda. But they did a smart thing today by electing Mike Crawley as a party president and basically told Sheila Copps and the old school liberals to piss off.


I give credit, they opened things up so that you didn't have to have a party membership to vote and participate as long as you weren't a member of another party and that you were basically a hardcore liberal (huh)

I don't know if its going to make a difference in an election three years down the road.

With all the conversation though its clear that they'll let Bob Rae break his promise and run for the next leadership of the party, if he is elected leader the Liberals will be dead.

Now they have three years under a shiny new Mike Crawley to raise funds and rebuild the party, it will be an interesting study.

I have no doubt that the Liberal's will move back into opposition in the next election when they take on the self destructing NDP, but I think they've got a long way to go to rebuild the Liberal's and completely change their message.

It was pretty clear to me that there is going to be a split in the party between the old school Copps supporters and the ones who wanted to move forward.

Could be interesting.
