Episodes 7 (Grunge) & 8 (Nu Metal) of Metal Evolution are up on MuchMore.ca now.

Grunge episode was better than I expected, definitely played up the Black Sabbath/Led Zeppelin/early metal influences on the Seattle scene. Plus it bagged on Creed/Nickelback, which is always fun.

Maybe it's just because it was the heavy music I was into during high school but it seemed like the Nu Metal episode really glossed over some things. Basically boiled down to

Anthrax/Public Enemy-->Pantera/Sepultura-->Korn/Deftones/Limp Bizkit and then Linkin Park took all that and made it fresh & clean.

Skipped over Slipknot & System of a Down completely. Although Slipknot may get thrown into the shock rock episode still think System of a Down has stood the test of time while coming out of that movement.

Either way, both episodes are worth watching, like I said, really enjoyed the Grunge one.
