I'd quite frankly be interested to know what age most of the "single forever" guys are.

Right now I'm 31 but look about 25. So even though I'm in a relationship, I get attention from women when I'm at a bar etc...(attention that I can't act upon, but maybe that's why they're giving it to me) However, 31 seems to be around the age when people's looks really start to fade. A lot of my friends have either gone bald or gained weight.

While yes it would be fun to stay young forever and pick up young attractive women, that isn't the case. Picking up 40+ women at bars just doesn't seem all that fun.

As for the copanionship issue, yes I would like to spend more time with my girlfriend than my buddies, just not on every friday night when there's drinking to be done

Another interesting cross-section of life is the newly single crowd. Many of these people although newly single choose to enter new relationships again. Force of habti? Or maybe being single and middle aged isn't that fun.
