Just some personal thoughts on what this has turned into.

I'm in my late twenties, still in school, doing a 2nd degree. I do not have a lot of cash because of this. No shiny car, no fancy house. I am not bad looking, I am in decent shape. I have been friend zoned so many times I've lost count. I understand the reticence. I am older, still in school (for the second time) and by all material measures unsuccessful at this moment in time. What gets me though is that it is something that people presume will persist indefinitely. If someone doesn't have something now, they will likely never have it seems to be the mentality.

What also irks me is that you tell everyone that you aren't enjoying what you are doing, and you wish you changed it up and did something else. They all look at you and say, you know what, you are under 30 still, go back and do it! Totally worth it! And it probably is in the long run, but man does it sometimes feel futile trying to meet the other sex sometimes and explaining what you are doing and why you aren't making the big bucks right then and there. Especially bothersome because I don't expect any lady candidates to have an amazing career and pull in tons of money either. I honestly don't care...perhaps because I don't myself, but still...

Not bitter, but I don't think I appreciated the sizable impact it would have on things (being in school still).
