China owns about $1.4 trillion in US debt. At an average interest rate of 3%, that means that US taxpayers pay China about $42 billion in interest per year.
The latest CIA estimate of China's military spending is about $100 billion per year.
So US taxpayers are paying for over 40% of the cost of China's military spending.
Based on future deficit driven borrowing needs, the US will be paying for a majority of China's military in the next few years.
