Oh you're right about bars. But even house parties and the like are pretty bad. There's something about approaching a girl at a restaurant where she's getting ready to eat that sits off with me too. But that's just something personal on my part, I can imagine they're more vulnerable to approach though. Coed leagues also seem off, kinda dating a girl you work with.

I guess. I am trying to get through school sans loans, so I'm a bit behind by not much. I also started late to get my bearings. But you are right, most are done. That was just a personal experience of mine a couple years ago. I just laughed at the girl's expectations of me while she was no better off and never talked to her again. From Calgary, ironically.
