Perhaps we differ on where we are going to meet women? If you are talking the noisy bar scene on Granville, that's a flawed approach from the get go. I've been off the scene for a couple years now, but I recall sit down lounges & restaurants (ie. you can actually talk comfortably, and people aren't just looking for drunken one nighters) were high yield, as were many of the casual team sport leagues.

I don't think they expect you to be further ahead, so much as they expect you to have an obtainable future. Also, most of us were done University by 23. I'd consider that slightly above average in most places, but perhaps this is a much bigger relative advantage in Van?
