Disagree. I know guys with decent careers who are by no means hideous nor shut-ins who get absolutely nothing from women when they're single. Though I do question their taste in women so perhaps your friends just are better judges of character (re: not bra size).

The last part is actually very true and goes to what I said of the buddy system earlier. "Don't know him, don't trust him." And yes, they could be very cynical but does a 24 year old girl still in university have the right to really expect a guy of similar age to be further ahead?
I think, judging by your handle, that we have an age disconnect as well.
