I don't know whether this has been brought up or not, but for anyone who has raised a large family, they know that every child is different in terms of natural ability, ease of discipline, ability to take risks, introvert vs extravert, special needs, etc. And how you treat or handle each child, in various matters, will probably vary to some degree. However, because of sibling rivalry, which in my experience is quite prevalent, particularly at an early age, I believe it is very important that the same amount of love is shown for each child.
It makes the family so much more harmonious and supportive, when your kids grow up, and they all love and care for one another. I think that favoratism can lead to the opposite.
