I don't really get the criticism. It is much better for everyone else when rich people spend put their money back into the economy vs just sitting on it. She can obviously afford this without much issue, and may actually be better off for the investment. I suppose this kind of move isn't so great for the environment, but not much us humans do is.
I meant, not buy the house and give the $12 million cash to charity if she was going to just bulldoze the house.

It has since been pointed out that the property was worth $12 million, and the house much less. Just tearing it down to rebuild a new house.

Originally it sounded like she blew $12 million on a house just to bulldoze it.
