Rain water and melting snow enters catch basins on the street and is carried to the 'lake'. An impermiable liner is installed in the lake to ensure it stays full.
The City requires developers to retain storm water onsite, thus a City requirement becomes a selling feature to lure suckers to their lakeside community!
