I would want to know what transpired beforehand on this. Let's say he went and looked at the car, asked the saleman how much, and paid the asking price. If he drove it away and then suddenly had a case of buyer's remorse, then too bad for him.
I got ripped off buying my first car when I was 16. Since then I've become a smarter shopper.
