for the record I never said his norm was awful, just whenever I saw him pitch. Living where I live I don't get to see a ton of Rangers games. But, when I did seen them play AND Oliver pitched he was horrible. Not like Lewis, Holland, or even Uhera when good GREAT but when bad, boy howdy look out. He was just bad.
I'm not judging based on one game, but Game 6 of the WS sums up my thoughts if him. As soon as I saw him I thought "oh God this isn't over" and watched the most difficult loss of my sports fandom.
Perhaps he's great when I don't see him play, perhaps the cosmos know when I'm watching and the d-bag baseball gods adjust accordingly. But for the past few years I've cringed when he was on the mound & he's always given me a reason for it.
