It was more than anything a joke, but as to your banishment, it's necessity. If you just hit 0 a bunch, you don't get to the right department, and we have to put you there to transfer you. However, if you at least say 'technical assistance' or 'payment arrangements' before hitting those 0s, you have a higher probability for getting the right department. Or you can swear, they do recognize that, and while they say 'I'm sorry, I don't understand you, let me get you to an agent' what they really mean is, 'okay you impatient butthole, I'll get you someone.'
I also hate it when people say they'll email you and never do.
