Depends on how honest the minor is.
What they should do is say that they wanted to have some fun so they took it from your wallet or that they found it and you can claim you lost it. Basically they'd avoid implicating you in any way of knowing that they were using the ID.
Then to get a new one you just say yours was stolen or try to recover the one that was confiscated.
If the minor says you lent it to them I imagine you'd be in trouble. Not sure how much though.
