I would stay downtown, since it is close to everything. You will be cabbing it everywhere on Macloed. Best areas to stay near is 17th ave, 8th ave, Kensington, Eau Claire, in that order.

With that said, Hotel Arts, Le Germain, Hyatt, Westin are all good choices. Check Hotwire.com for a deal.

I would say Hotel Arts is best bet for proximity to everything (Dome, Bars, 17th, Flames Central, etc)

I would also mention the Fairmont, but IMO it is an overpriced dump. Maybe if you get an awesome deal stay there. Le Germain is prob the same price, and is a super nice hotel if that is your style.
