Just had a wedding myself and the range for non-family amounts seemed to be in the $75-150 range per person (usually around $100). Some close family and friends gave more, but that wasn't the norm. For people who travelled and went out of their way to go to the wedding though, I would've been fine if they didn't give money (although most still stuck to the above numbers). I think as long as you're in that range, you should be fine....although if you're above 30 and aren't an unemployed delinquent, I'd maybe stay away from $75.

At the end of the day, most couples are just trying to get some of their money back to cover the wedding....so you can definitely gauge it by the fanciness.
