If you don't think Welkers a good football player you don't know your head from your arsehole. If he didn't run great routes, he wouldn't get the targets he does from Brady. Certainly he benefits from Bellichick, Brady and company and the scheme they put together. If they felt there was a better guy for the job, they would have replaced him with that player. Welker is the best slot receiver in the game, and those guys help you move the chains to keep drives alive.
