Not sure what your definition of elite is but he is the 5th best QB in the league and just a notch below Rodgers, Brees, Brady and P. Manning (when healthy) and much better than the QB's that would come on the list. He may not be as flashy as the top guys but he is a great QB no doubt.

Wasn't valo talking about this year though? The defense is garbage this year and not close to the opportunistic defense that they had in the past. And with a handful of crap backs the offense isn't really close to as well balanced as in the past.
