As another Sager owner, the realtek chipset is fine. The NVIDIA high definition audio has nothing to do with your audio unless you are outputting via HDMI to a big screen TV, etc.

Right click on the volume icon in the task bar and select "playback devices". Click on your speakers and select properties. On Enhancements make sure stuff like Voice Cancellation is not on. Try turning on Loudness Equalization. Open the Realtek HD Audio Manager (orange speaker icon in your taskbar icons) and play with those settings also and make sure you are not on a strange environmental setting or room correction or have some kind of artificial surround setting on. You can also try to change from 2 speaker to 5.1 speaker because IIRC, the low frequency subwoofer on the Sager may not work properly on 2 speaker.
