I too avoid any service deals. However, I do appreciate this thread and hope that it does not get shut down. I like that the OP highlights the deals that I might want to look at. I just do my own due diligence to decide if I do want to proceed and am fairly picky. I also appreciate the discussion from other unbiased posters. I don't find the "HOT DEAL" and "VERY HOT DEAL" tags at all informative, so I just ignore that. If anything, the inclusion of those tags appear to be based solely on the higher percentage discount of the "deals" and are more of an indicator that it is bordering on a scam. (i.e. it is too good to be true)

For sure, my main points were
1) DealTicker is sketchball
2) Service type deals are not worth the risk
I'm not saying to shut down the thread, but it'd be nice if the OP attached a bit of extra vetting. I won't be buying any of the sketchy deals again, but it'd be nice if other CPers didn't have to learn the hard way.
I've definitely appreciated the thread, and have had some great meals at places that I wouldn't have otherwise tried because of it. Definitely restaurants seem like the best combination of value/legitimacy, IMO.
