I didn't think this season was that bad; Colin Hanks did an admirable job playing the psychotic, but they never really played up the fact that he almost had the same mentoring relationship with Gellar as Dexter did with his father. Obviously the only real difference is Travis sort of made up the relationship, but obviously he was too crazed to figure that out. Which is another thing they never really delved into. that Dexter basically killed an insane person who had no idea what he was doing (until the end at least). If Marshall was caught he may not of received the death penalty as he was completely out of his mind.

But, I do agree the plot holes are really dragging the season down. I guess the biggest one is how sloppy Dexter has gotten, which was obviously shown last night when he finally was caught in the act. Another thing that confused me was in last nights show, didn't any of the detective's notice that Marshall's painting had Dexter's big face in the middle of it? Did I miss something there (was it painted over)?

If I had to rank the seasons I would go: 4-1-2-6-5-3

You would think next season will be good, as we'll finally see what is up with the Lab Geek (is he Dexter's relative, or just an admirer of his work?), and how Deb will react to Dexter's little problem. I wonder if she'll quickly realize Dexter is the Bay Harbor Butcher, and killing Marshall is not his first time.
