that's for cases where the player is not be awarded via the bid system. In a bid system AHL% is used as a tie-braker.
Contracts are awarded based on the following:
1. Per year $$$
If tied
2. Term
If tied
3. AHL %
If tied
4. Spot in standings.
So if your offer didn't include AHL% - you should re-submit.
