If there's one Nobel Prize winner I could say I truly agreed with (of the laureates I'm familiar with), Norman Borlaug is it. (No Barack Obama, I'm sure you're a great guy but getting elected is
not a valid reason for being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.) Seems like it's become more of a popularity contest than anything else, which is unfortunate, because I think it's important to recognize those who make significant contributions to our world on a global scale.

Harsh but true. Any time I hear anecdotal evidence given as 'proof' of the efficacy of something (usually alternative medicine quackery), I feel like banging my head against a wall.
