Some people just don't test well. If you feel like you understand the material and can do well and put the work in, then failing the course isn't necessarily a bad thing. Maybe you'll get through it the second time with a much better grade.
Sometimes when writing the test a second time you're less anxious or whatever because you are more comfortable with the material. That comfort level with writing exams will come the further you get into University. Do you typically have test anxiety? Have you fared pretty well in exam situations in the past?
You probably did better than you think.
