Of course he has. If he doesn't get traded in season to LA or NY, the only way he could join them as FA next year is to sign really cheap deals because LA and NY are capped out. Does it make sense?

He can also sign with teams like GS or MIN that could offer him max deals even though those deals will be less and shorter than the one NO can offer him. Would playing for GS or MIN and take less money be more desirable to him than playing for NO?

All I'm saying is that NO knows that the the above are the scenarios Paul would be facing if they don't trade him this season. Paul could still leave but perhaps, he won't because of how the CBA is structured.
