I could sort of understand blocking the LA trade because of the lack of youth and cap space, given that there were other offers out there.

But the rumour now is that Clippers offered Aminu, Bledsoe, Kaman (expiring contract), and either Minnesota unprotected pick, or Gordon. League insisted on both Gordon and the pick. If that's the case, the league simply wants to either block any Paul trade, or force him to go somewhere he doesn't want to go. I simply do not understand at all what the league hopes to achieve, since he can go where he wants when he hits free agency in a year, anyway.
