I think it's been fantastic from start to finish.
This show is about the day to day lives of these survivors. It's the decisions that are forced upon them in this awful world that make this show interesting. It's not about the apocalypse or the zombies, that's just the setting for this great story of these characters in a world that they want no part of. As the show goes on, I'm sure more truths about what happened and a potential solution will reveal itself. We still have at least 5 seasons left.
If Walking Dead was just long chase and action scenes with guns and gore, I would have left 3 episodes in.

Considering you like Transformers 2 which is one of the worst movies in movie history, I really don't understand how you can say this show has a good story. So many things about The Walking Dead are just mediocre that I don't get all the praise the show gets. Note: It may seem as though I'm targeting you, but I'm not, a lot of people I know agree with your opinion and I just don't agree with it.
It took 7 episodes to tell a story that should have taken 4, the first season was all over the place (which I liked better than the 2nd season) that is made little to no sense.
I'm not someone who needs constant action to enjoy a show, Breaking Bad is one of my fav shows but it is slow as hell, but at least with Breaking Bad the people can act and make the slow stuff entertaining. The Walking Dead has no likable characters, some of the dialogue is absolute garbage, the acting (which I've mentioned countless times) is terrible for the most part, the plot lines are all stagnate and it took 7 episodes to advance the main story just an inch.
I still really like the show because the positives are really good, but there are so many better shows on television.
