Now that the OP's questions has been addressed and he has his camera I have a question as well. I am looking for an entry level DSLR camera for my wife for christmas. She is interested in stepping up from point & shoot but before we determine if she
really likes it I don't want to break the bank (also I don't have the extra $ right now).
What are thoughts between these 3 cameras?

I can get the Nikon and Sony for about the same price while the Canon is a bit cheaper. My budget is pretty set so I can't really look at the D5100, T2i, T3i or Alpha A55. The Sony NEX-C3 is also a bit cheaper but it seems like the Mrs wants a more traditional looking DSLR.
Thanks.
