Officials from the Atlantic 10 and the Big East will review Saturday's Cincinnati-Xavier fight and have the jurisdiction to hand out more penalties and could do so by Monday.


A bench-clearing brawl forced officials to cancel the final 9.4 seconds of Xavier's 76-53 victory in the contentious crosstown rivalry game with the Bearcats. The No. 8 Musketeers moved to 8-0 with the win, while Cincinnati dropped to 5-3.

Xavier's Tu Holloway, Mark Lyons and Dez Wells all had a part in escalating the situation. Lyons was squawking at the end of the half with the Cincinnati bench. Wells was seen shoving G'Lawn Guyn after Holloway and Guyn were jawing at the end of the game.

Holloway, though, made a more inflammatory comment in the postgame news conference when he said the Musketeers were more "gangsters" but not "thugs."
