I lost 30 pounds in the past year. My goal was to lose one pound a week. Quick math, there is 3500 hundred calories in one pound. Break that over a week and you need to adjust your diet by either reducing caloric intake by 500 or upping your exercise to use up 500. The best way is a combination of both. However, as you exercise you will often burn more then just 500 calories, so you end up eating more. This in turn starts your metabolism up. Plus muscle that comes from working out uses more calories then fat.
Weight loss and good health is not some mystery or secret. The real factor is consistency. To actually get up 5-6 days a week and do it.
