Yeah that drives me nuts too. Those things must cost a fortune to replace and what the hell is the point of breaking it? Who or what are you rebelling against when you break a bus shelter?
Another thing that annoys me at bus shelters is "responsible adults" tossing their bags of dogshyte into the garbage cans at a bus shelter. Hey genius, people stand there and they don't need to stand next to your dog's smelly toilet, so have a little bit of common courtesy and take your bag of faeces all the way home with you please or barring that, dispose of it in a place that is not clearly marked as a gathering point for humans.
