BIMD - We played games like, "Cowboys and Indians", "Cops and Robbers", "Spin the Bottle" and " Please Mother May I".

BIMD - School bullies hesitated to be bullies because of "the Strap"

BIMD - You had to buy a licence to operate a radio. And the favourite programs were "Amos and Andy", "The Lone Ranger", and "The Shadow"

BIMD - Most new houses came with a milk box, and the milk was delivered by horse and wagon

BIMD - Most people had ice boxes instead of refrigerators. And on hot summer days you would hitch a ride on the back of the ice wagon to grab a piece of ice to eat.

BIMD - Saturday afternoon matinee cost 12 cents, and there was great pandemonium from kids throwing popcorn, and cheering whenever the bad guy got shot.

BIMD - We had to share the phone with one other person, and the other person was not always amicable.

BIMD - Many of the New Canadians made money by dragging a small grinding wheel down the street for people to sharpen their knives, scissors etc. One day I took my skates out to be sharpened and he sharpened the blades down to a knife edge. So much for my skates.

BIMD - In small towns, handy stands would be set up to sell hotdogs, hamburgs and a drink. Maybe this is where MacDonalds got the idea people would forever eat this kind of food.

BIMD - If a person retired with $50,000., he could move to Spain and live comfortably forever.

BIMD - The best hockey teams of the Big 6 were the Leafs, Habs and Wings. The favourite hockey players were Syl Apps, Rocket Richard and Gordie Howe.

BIMD - The Russians ran on their skates
