Evidently it was quite the gong show last night, a tent at the Morgan's home, new sculptures in the morning.
For the sculpture, it's not bad, and may be worth perserving permanently in the city somewhere. But I definitely think a cool down period is needed before that can of worms is dealt with. Right now it's too easy to have a knee jerk reaction to the occupiers who held the plaza hostage for 2 months to really judge it on it's merit.
Is this an event worth remember? Does this sculpture stand as a reminder of the downtrodden? Or is it just yet another egotistical stunt from a group that thrives on attention? All questions worth debating, but not questions that need to be answered in the next 24 hours.
Sounds like the sculpture is going to be impounded for 30 days with the clean up, which I think it's great, in 30 days time the city can look at it again and decide what to do with it.
