It makes sense that grade 12 would be one of the best. You turn 18 (and the awesome stuff with that), graduate, apply for Uni, party a lot, don't have a ton of adult responsibility, you get to drink and party a whole lot, girls, parties etc.
I just think it is completely sad to have your best year in the past. Maybe it's defeatist. Ideally, every year should be the best year of your life. There are really no external forces stopping it.
