Actually what happened was several stations complained the last time Spike changed formats from The New TNN to Spike. Spike was able to keep it's Canadian license by promising not to air anything that anybody else here has.
My example was a stretch, but my point was that it's nice to see that Canadians are starting to be able to have the freedom to watch or listen to what we want; rather than what the CRTC thinks is best. When Satellite Radio was being considered, Sirius Canada said it would not be offering Stern initially. Now it is. And I'm glad a big company is deciding to stand up to the CRTC.
