Not really.
I have a 6gb plan through rogers, and I have tested it one month, where all I did, was tether to my cell phone for 1 month, and turned of my router at home. I hit 4.7 GBs under heavy use. The only thing I did not do, was stream Netflix. I did use youtube like no ones business though.
I pay 30/month for the 6gb plan, I believe the regular 1 gb plan is $25. My total cell bill is $72, with unlimited voice/text.
I have heavily debated totally dropping internet, and relying on my cell/data plan, the only thing that stops me is the speed issue, and Apple TV.
