I guess this should go in the GMGs thread, but I parked my car around the corner (my street is a snow route), and look up and down the street today, everyone is parked somewhere else. Great! The street's going to get plowed curb to curb instead of me having to shovel my car out!
Snowplows just go by 3x in each direction... but snow in front of house is still there. Oh, right, the neighbours have now all parked their cars back on the damn street. Are people really this dumb? To top it off, I'm sure someone is going to park in front of my house tonight too since I didn't park there.
ETA: in Ottawa, they have automatic overnight parking bans for x cm or more; but there are people with street parking permits. Tow trucks tow them off the street as the plow clears it, then moves them wherever when the plow needs to clear the next street. It's really efficient (it's in Sandy Hill for anyone from Ottawa). Only downside is that people need to hunt for their car the next day because it's never back where you parked it.
