At the end of the day it comes down to this for me - Alabama had their chance at LSU at home and lost. Oklahoma State has just as good a resume as Alabama after that beatdown of OU and deserve a shot. A rematch would settle nothing.
If Bama plays in the title game, LSU is the National Champion in my opinion regardless of what happens in that game.

As for ranking the conferences, the SEC has shown over the last 5 to 10 years that not only are they the best, but they are separating from the pack. Ok State had one of the worst defences in all of College football and they still won the BigXII. That defence would have handed them 2 or 3 losses in the SEC easy.
