I am a retired physician and have always thought that parking charges flout the founding principles of the Canada Health Act and represent an immoral cash grab. To say that the money goes to buy new equipment or to offset security and maintain parking areas are poor excuses.

Canadians are happy to pay their health insurance and the healthy do not mind subsidizing the care of their sicker brethren. By the same token, if extra revenue is needed everyone should share the cost and not a disproportionate amount by the sick and their relatives.
