I've been using google this morning and I'm still not sure I'm 100% sure what I'm doing, so I thought I'd see if there are any posters that have any experience with hooking up a new phone line to a new phone jack.

I went to Canadian Tire and bought the only phone jack they had available. I thought it would be as simple as hooking up similar colors together, but apparently it's not. The Jack has 6 solid wires on it........red, green, yellow, black, blue and white. On the other hand, my phone wire has 4 twisted pairs of wires..........green/white, red/white, blue/white and orange/white. I've read sites that say as long as the green and red are connected you're good to go, others have color coded charts that are a little confusing.

Anyone know what is the correct way to do this?
