Ready for what though? Very few QBs come off the sidelines and seemlessly play like a MOP within their first few starts.
Hamilton, Toronto, and maybe even Winnipeg would start Tate if he was on their teams. He's a starter in this league. You're correct though in pointing out he's not a playoff winning calibre QB yet. But one thing's clear though, he's learned as much as he can from holding the clipboard for Hank and he's only going to get better by playing. This is a move that needed to happen sooner or later and personally I don't see them winning the Grey Cup next year with or without Hank so they might as well give Tate a chance to grow as a starter.
